Oral contraception can be used to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sexual intercourse or if other contraceptive methods used have failed. It is effective when consumed within 5 days of sexual intercourse.

In Singapore, you can only get access to emergency contraceptives if you have a prescription from a doctor. However, they are not stocked at every clinic in Singapore and some clinics are not well-versed in managing women’s health.
At Speedoc, not only are our doctors registered with the Ministry of Health (MOH), they are also experienced in women’s health and greatly value our patients’ privacy and understand that discretion is a high priority.

No, it is not. The "morning-after pills" should be consumed within 5 days after unprotected sex to prevent pregnancy; it is a progesterone-only pill that delays the release of an egg from an ovary. The sooner you take the pill, the higher the chances of preventing pregnancy. An abortion pill is taken up to 9 weeks of pregnancy to end the pregnancy.
If you are already pregnant, the "morning-after pills" will not work.
Your next period will come the following month as scheduled – sometimes a week earlier or later. However, if your period is significantly delayed (i.e. delayed for more than three weeks), you are advised to take a pregnancy test.
